Performance

The University at Buffalo Music Department has developed an internationally recognized niche for the creation and performance of new music.  It also has a long legacy for the performance of chamber music.  Performance study at UB provides a strong focus in both of these areas within the context of traditional instrumental and vocal training.  The Department offers more than 125 public performances each year as an extension of the academic program.  A wide range of performance opportunities are available to students, including participation in University Chorus, University Choir, UB Concert Band, UB Jazz Ensemble, UB Symphony Orchestra, UB Contemporary Ensemble, UB Opera Workshop, Student Noon Recitals, and numerous smaller ensembles and chamber groups.
