Advanced Certificate in Contemporary Performance

The Advanced Certificate in Contemporary Performance at the UB Music Department is designed to provide students with creative opportunities to develop their experience in contemporary music performance.

Students will study all aspects of contemporary music performance, presentation, recording, and entrepreneurship.

In collaboration with UB's Center for 21st Century Music, students have the opportunity to perform with the Slee Sinfonietta, at the June in Buffalo Festival, and in the greater Buffalo area. The Department is home to an internationally recognized graduate program in Composition, exceptional performance venues, and a comprehensive library collection of contemporary music scores and recordings.

The following is the approved normal course of study for students pursuing the Advanced Certificate in Contemporary Music Performance. In all cases a student's particular program should be determined in consultation with his/her academic advisor. Customized tracks, involving substitutions for required and elective courses, are encouraged but must be planned in advance with the advisor and will require the approval of the Music Department Graduate Committee.
